- Assistance - help
- Advice - an idea or opinion that someone gives to help you.
- Bereaved – if someone close to you has recently died.
- Consultant – a specialist doctor.
- Contraception - the prevention of conceiving a baby; birth control.
- Diagnosis - finding out the type of illness or injury by examining its signs and symptoms.
- Discharged – released from hospital.
- Dispensed – given out; provided.
- Eligible for – if you meet the requirements; entitled to.
- Entitled to - if you meet the requirements; eligible for.
- Exemption – excluded from.
- Inpatient - staying in a ward overnight
- Obstetrician - a medical doctor whose specialty is pregnancy and childbirth.
- Outpatient – being treated in the hospital but not staying overnight
- Prescribed – medicine that a doctor recommends for you.
- Prescription - an order written by a doctor for medicine.
- Referred to as – called.
- Rehabilitation – being helped back to good health.
- Relevant government department – the government department that deals with that issue.
- Repatriation – to return to your own country.
- Responsible for - expected to take care of particular things or to perform certain duties.
- Sepsis - infection
- Urgent – requiring immediate action.
